Ski Season in Washington: A Guide to the State's Resorts
Washington's ski season typically runs late November through April, spread across resorts with very different personalities. Crystal Mountain, the state's largest, sits closest to Seattle at roughly two hours out and pairs skiing with a summer gondola view of Rainier. Stevens Pass offers a quicker trip for a half-day run, while Mount Baker draws those chasing the deepest snow regardless of the extra distance. Weekend traffic on Highway 2 and 410 backs up predictably by mid-morning — a private driver who leaves before sunrise avoids the worst of it entirely.
